Director of IT



Job Description

We are looking for a Director of IT to lead the standup of enterprise systems and be a business process resource for the company’s functional areas. This is a high-energy, high-growth organization with an entrepreneurial approach. Successful candidates will be able to operate through all levels of the organization and align processes and systems to fully execute the company’s strategy of growth. The immediate focus of this position will be standing up TruRoots Systems including; ERP evaluation and implementation, Master Data Architecture and Management, creating a simplified system environment, moving servers to Cloud, and setting up the team. All with the goal of ensuring "a single version of the truth" flows thru this system environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


·        Direct and manage the company’s ERP evaluation, implementation and successful utilization

·        Hire and develop the IT team properly balancing internal and external resources

·        Direct and manage 3rd party infrastructure providers and outsourced functions

·        Ensure communication and connectivity is at the highest level between company personnel, customers, suppliers and 3PLs

·        Continuously analyze business processes and current data flows in order to identify and pro-actively resolve organizational, systems and process inefficiencies and bottlenecks

·        Overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them according to established goals

·        Responsible for project status reporting, monthly IT updates, budget preparation, and various business systems analytical projects for use internally and externally

·        Analyzing the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs

·        Develop a thorough understanding of all facets of TruRoots business including commodities/fruit/vegetable, supply chain, markets, channels, customers and consumers.

·        Develop and maintain an IT Strategic Plan that is aligned with business objectives

·        Prepare, analyze and manage IT budget/expenditures and hire and manage internal/external resources

·        Monitor industry and IT trends to identify opportunities for applying technology to deliver business benefits in accordance with corporate strategic initiatives

·       Interact with Management in the development of project plans, prioritization, and cross-project matters to enable effective, efficient, and timely project delivery

QUALIFICATIONS:


·        BS in Computer Science or MIS, MBA/Masters degree preferred

·        Consumer goods retail product and FS background with experience in F&B and manufacturing

·        Carve out and start-up experience a plus

·        Experience implementing multiple systems

·        Experience moving an organization from servers to the Cloud 

·        Experience with customer-facing processes and technology including pricing, trade promotion management, deductions, and EDI

·        Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with a proven ability to develop and analyze complex issues

·        Ability to quickly grasp (intuition) key business drivers

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong presentation preparation and delivery.

·        Proven ability to successfully lead teams and partner with other functions to achieve success in a dynamic work environment. Build consensus and interact effectively at numerous levels throughout the organization

·        A self-starter with an ability to address strategic issues as well as day-to-day operational concerns

·        Must be approachable, open-minded and gain the trust and confidence of senior management

·        A team builder, who through personal example will lead and motivate a diverse group of individuals to work effectively as a high-performing team. Proven track record in mentoring and developing professional staff

·        Experience in managing and enterprise-wide IT operation

·        Strong understanding of business application management including requirements gathering, selection, implementation, data integration, quality assurance, asset management, and change control

·        Hands-on experience with ERP Financial, Distribution, and Manufacturing modules

·        Strong knowledge of EDI connectivity and functionality
