Fin-tech, Blockchain, & Data
About Rafael Roa
I was born on the US/Mexico border in a city called McAllen, Texas (aka the lesser known valley), moved to Mexico City lived there for nine years, ended going to high school in Madrid (Real not Atletico), and decided to re-visit Texas for college. After graduating and giving back a little (school teacher and immigration defense paralegal), I moved to NYC to get an MFA in Fiction writing at NYU. After graduating, I decided I wanted to keep helping people and started recruiting technologists in Finance, which was full of stories and good nights. However, Wall Street can get a little claustrophobic, so curious about the wider world I joined ingenium. Here I’ve helped place people in fin-tech, start-ups, and ad agencies. Recently, I’ve also started to take on some our operational responsibilities, helping weave the best of the old school with the best of the new.
Outside of work I play goalie and CB, catch every movie I can, and cook up a storm in the PLG. Oh, and I’m working on a book.
